The Basement Office/Rec Room
When designing the house we made sure that the basement ceiling was at least nine feet high. The plan was to remodel it for a office/rec room. The basement was used as ad hoc storage when we first moved in and was full wall to wall.
The original plan was to use the one side of the basement for the rec room. This would require people to walk through an unfinished storage area. It was decided to move the storage area to the other side and make the room L-shaped thus incorporating the stairs into the room.
What's Next (4/07) : Will string the electric and work on completing the framing around the basement door and stairs.

Started down the long wall. Had to offset the wall from the foundation because of the piping leading to the septic tank. Will end up building a closet to cover the clean out. (2/07) |

Have to deal with some more piping. Didn't have to offset the wall but will probably build another closet to cover it. (2/07) |

Added the framing near the stairs. The platform will be raised so that a wall with door can be added to enclose the utility room. (4/07) | |
