Our New & Bigger House
Below is a time line and pictures detailing the five month construction of our new house.

May 3, 2005 - Signed contract.
May 27 - Signed off the floor plans. 1st Floor Plan 2nd Floor Plan
June 7 - Footings poured.
June 8 - Forms placed & foundation poured.
June 24 - The first section of six was started on the manufacturing line. A few days ahead of schedule, yippee.
June 27 - Purchased land.
July 14 - Slab poured.
July 20 - Visited the factory and saw all but one section.
July 25 - One section of the main house and the two apartment sections arrived on site. Trailer bottomed out on the first turn on the hill. Left some deep marks in the road.
July 26 - One more section arrived.
July 27 - The last two sections arrived.
July 28 - The house was set on the foundation. They worked 7 - 4 to set all the boxes. The 5 man crew needs another day to finish buttoning the house. Bill Lake the manufacturer owner spent part of the day inspecting everything. Overall the crew felt everything went smoothly, though at one point one of the boxes almost took out the crane cabin.
July 29 - The house was sealed. The finishing crew arrived and started the interior work.
August 1 - Plumbers begin their work. Front porch is started.
August 2 - The finishing crew is back to continue about 2 - 3 weeks worth of work.
August 4 - Electrican starts his work.
August 5 - Only one more day is need to complete the siding. Basement windows installed.
August 9 - Movers moved the furniture to storage. A lot still to be placed in storage units.
August 10 - Porch is almost completed. Siding is done. About five more days of finishing interior work left. Two 330 gallon water tanks were delivered.
August 11 - Stone wall along driveway was almost completed but they ran out of blocks. Almost finished moving everything out. Boy are we tired. Living at Robyn's mom's house until we leave for vacation. Kids are taking everything well. A new guy is working on the finishing the drywall. Appliances arrived with some dings that luckily are not visible once installed.
August 13 - We head to Myrtle Beach.
August 15 - Stone driveway started. Only thing left on the exterior will be the garage doors and the steps for all the doorways.
August 19 - Closing on our old house. Yup, we will not be around for the closing.
August 30 - We scheduled the movers for move our furniture into the house, whether we have the CO or not. Had a bit of a problem with our builder as he wasn't going to allow us to move our belongings in. Got the inspector to give us a conditional CO. We lived at Robyn's Mom's for a few weeks.
September 7 - Robyn brings the kids to the house every morning to catch the bus to their new school.
Late September - Finally start living at the house.
Early October - Finally moved everything from the two storage units into the basement for sorting later.
